Surveillance of tuberculosis.

K Styblo.

Abstract

Surveillance must be an integral part of any effective tuberculosis programme and should be concerned with two distinct subjects--surveillance of the tuberculosis situation and surveillance of control measures applied. This paper describes and discusses these two aspects with regard to both developed and developing countries, and makes recommendations for the collection of reliable surveillance data.
