Abstract
Superselective arteriography of the branches of the external carotid artery is of great value in the diagnosis of vascular lesions in the distribution of this artery. These include vascular anomalies of the scalp, the tongue, the ears, the face, the dura mater, and intracranial sinuses, of meningiomas, glomus tumors, angiofibromas of the nasopharynx, and metastases. Super-selective catheterization of the branch of the external carotid artery can also be utilized for the treatment of these lesions by embolization. The technique is described and the various lesions illustrated.Entities:
