Abstract
A reversed-phase liquid chromatographic method has been developed and validated for the analysis of berberine in decocted liquid from Shenshu granules with water. The drug was extracted with supersonic wave and then measured by HPLC using a Hypersil C18 column and an acetonitrile -0.04 mol/L H3PO4(42:58, V/V) as mobile phase. Berberin was quantified by ultraviolet absorbance at 349 nm. The method proved to be linear in the range of 1.2-19.2 mg/L. The lower limit of detection of berberin was 0.6 mg/L. Intra-day and inter-day coefficients of variation of assay for berberin were 0.6%-3.5%(n = 5) and 5.3%-6.5% (n = 5), respectively. The recoveries of the method were 89.1%-91.4%.Entities:
