Abstract
Glucocorticoids have profound effects on mineral metabolism and skeletal cell function, and an excess can lead to the development of short stature and osteoporosis. The most significant actions of glucocorticoids are on chondrocytes and bone-forming cells, where they act, directly and indirectly, and regulate the local synthesis of insulin-like growth factor-I.Entities:
