Abstract
4 boys with familial tall stature aged 119/12-153/12 years were treated with Testosterone for reduction of definitive height by accelerating epiphyseal fusion. Body height at the beginning of therapy was 3,2-5,4 standard deviations over the mean, the height prediction was 199-205 cm. In therapy oral Methyltestosterone was used in the beginning and therapy was later continued with Testosterone oenanthate i.m. as depot preparation. The average duration of treatment was 14 months; in this time bone age was accelerated 2,3 times: a mean reduction of 8,9 cm from the predicted height was the result. No severe side effects could be observed.Entities:
