Bilateral corneal ring opacity of unknown origin.

Abstract

PURPOSE: To report one case of a bilateral ring-shaped opacity in the mid-peripheral corneal stroma of unknown origin.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: The authors describe the clinical history and ocular examination of an asymptomatic 82-year-old woman with a bilateral ring-shaped opacity located in the corneal stroma. This rare corneal anomaly was discovered by chance, and the etiology is unknown.
CONCLUSION: An unusual bilateral corneal abnormality is reported.
