Abstract
In this review, we give a summary of recent examples of hybridisation in fungi. Reports on hybridisation between pathogenic fungi infecting plants have increased during the last decade. Hybrids of plant pathogens may create devastating new diseases on both cultivated and wild plants; at the same time, hybridisation is one of the natural processes in the course of evolution of new taxa.Mesh:
