History of heart failure (including hypertension).

The article shortly summarizes without being complete the most important developments on heart failure and arterial hypertension in Germany from the 18th century until about 1990. During this time it is shown that important contributions from Germany added substantial knowledge to all internationally relevant advances in the field.
