Abstract
Domestic violence is a significant social and public health problem that disproportionately affects women and girls and often results in injury, chronic health problems, and death. Obstetrician-gynecologists are in a unique position to identify such patients and to provide intervention. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has responded to this problem and encouraged its members to act.
