The effect of thyroid extract on luteal phase deficiency.

24 patients with infertility caused by lateal phase deficiency were treated with thyroid hormones or placebos. The incidence of pregnancy in the group taking thyroid hormone was much higher, which suggests that a course of thyroid hormone should be administered before a more aggressive therapy with chorionic gonadotropins or clomid is given. The success rate of this therapy is as favorable as any other.
