Abstract
We describe a case of urinary incontinence which was caused by a small ectopic dysplastic kidney where all preoperative investigations including ultrasound, intravenous urography, micturating cystourethrogram, technetium-99m ((99m)TC) diethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid renal scan, spiral CT scan and angiography failed to reveal the offending kidney. Only a (99m)Tc dimercaptosuccinic acid scan suggested the presence of a small left kidney located in the iliac region. The patient underwent laparoscopy and the offending kidney was identified and excised.Entities:
