Abstract
This is the text of the 1998 "W. D. Borrie Lecture [presented at the] Australian Population Association National Conference.... Post-war immigration to Australia is a truly vast subject, covering more than 50 years with over ten Prime Ministers and numerous Ministers of Immigration....
