Age-dependent changes in the morphology of brown adipose tissue in mice.

I L Cameron.

Abstract

The multocular fat cells of brown adipose tissue of the mouse show an age-dependent change to the unilocular fat cell type. This change starts immediately after birth and continues throughout life. This morphological change can be correlated with the animal's age-dependent decrease in tolerance to a cold environment.
