Abstract
Skin tests were performed and the specific IgE levels determined by means of the radio-allero-sorbent test (RAST) in fifty patients with allergic rhinitis/conjunctivitis and extrinsic bronchial asthma. An overall correlation between in vitro and in vivo diagnosis was found in 87% of cases. The results of this study indicate that in such allergies the RAST might well be of value as a screening test. In addition it is a valuable supplement to the skin tests, particularly in the elucidation of the diagnosis in problematic cases.Entities:
