Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents in Aquilegia oxysepala.
METHOD: Various chromatographic techniques were used to separate and purify the constituents. The structures were determined by spectral analysis and chemical evidence. RESULT: Five flavonoids were isolated from the plant and identified as genkwanin, apigenin, luteonlin, swertisin and tilianin.
CONCLUSION: All these compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.
