Abstract
Imiquimod 5% cream represents a new class of topically applied immune response modifiers that are capable of enhancing immune function. It stimulates both the innate arm of the immune system as well as cell-mediated immunity. It is currently indicated for treating genital human papilloma virus infection. However, because of its action on the immune system it shows promise for wide applicability in treating other viral skin infections as well as neoplastic and immune-mediated diseases of the skin.Entities:
