Abstract
It is now clear that there are major regional differences in adipose tissue function as regards the uptake and release of fatty acids. Visceral adiposity is a good predictor of abnormal regulation of adipose tissue fuel export, but it is not the source of excess systemic FFA in humans. Regional differences in adipose tissue uptake of fatty acids may be an important determinant of body fat distribution, which in turn appears to predict abnormalities of fatty acid metabolism.Entities:
