[Management of mucocutaneous herpes in the immunocompetent subject (ocular manifestations excepted). Consensus Conference under the care of the French Agence Nationale d'Accréditation et d'Evaluation en Santé (ANAES)].

.

Abstract

This article is the short text of a consensus conference on the management of muco-cutaneous herpes held under the care of the French Agence Nationale d'Accréditation et d'Evaluation en Santé (ANAES) on november 7th 2001. The recommendations of the jury of the consensus conference are given in response to five questions: 1) what is the natural history of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection? 2) What are the clinical and evolutive particularities of certain localizations? 3) What are the meaning and limits of the diagnostic tools? 4) What are the modalities of local and general treatment? 5) What are the future prospects for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, of HSV infection?
