Abstract
"Trends in Russian mortality appear all the more negative in comparison with the very favourable trends in most Western countries, especially during the last two decades. To highlight the most damaging causes, we compare Russian cause-specific mortality trends with those observed in France and England and Wales, two countries for which we have reconstructed continuous time series of deaths by cause....
