Abstract
The feasibility of using ion chromatography (IC) in solutions containing quaternary ammoniums is studied. The results establish the applicability of IC for the determination of halide ions in a pharmaceutical sample without interferences by various excipient ions. For IC measurements with suitable methodical parameters, linearity is maintained over the range of 20 to 200 mg/L and 10.0 to 250 mg/L for the chloride and bromide of quaternary ammoniums, respectively. A comparison of the anion results obtained from differential pulse voltammetry shows good agreement.Entities:
