Abstract
Mycobacterium tuberculosis upregulates NF-kappaB binding and interleukin-8 (IL-8) gene expression and secretion in primary human monocytes. Inhibition of tyrosine protein kinases but not of ERK1/2 or p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases downregulates tuberculosis-induced IL-8 secretion. The inhibitor genistein decreased NF-kappaB nuclear translocation and IL-8 gene transcription in addition to acting on posttranscriptional processing.Entities:
