Abstract
In this issue of Molecular Cell, Ahmad and Henikoff show that the replication-independent pathway of chromatin assembly in vivo can discriminate between different histone variants on the basis of their primary amino acid sequences. These results have important implications for chromatin remodeling and epigenetic imprinting.Mesh:
