HDAC's at work: everyone doing their part.

Craig L Peterson1.

Abstract

The interplay between histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs) is key to the dynamics of chromatin structure and function. A recent report of genome-wide, microarray maps of histone acetylation has uncovered the intragenic targets for six different yeast HDACs and has led to the discovery of new heterochromatin-like domains.
