Abstract
The association of epilepsy, the epilepsypsychoses and schizophrenia has attracted the attention of psychiatrists and neurologists since the nineteenth century. While until the 1970ies German speaking psychiatry had shown great interest, in recent years there have been only a small number of publications on this topic. However there has been intensive research likewise on the epilepsypsychoses, especially on the association of temporal lobe epilepsy and schizophrenia in the English-speaking psychiatry. The epilepsypsychoses are inadequately categorized by the modern classification systems. Current knowledge of either the epilepsypsychoses or the relationship between epilepsy and schizophrenia is examined.Entities:
