Abstract
Treatment of pituitary adenomas can be pharmacologic or surgical. First- line treatment of prolactinomas is usually medical, using either bromocriptine or cabergoline. Other symptomatic pituitary adenomas typically should be treated with transsphenoidal surgery. Radiation therapy can be adjunctive for residual or recurrent tumor. The prognosis for endocrinologic and visual improvement is usually good.Entities:
