Raising research awareness: a strategy for nurses.

Sue Jolley1.

Abstract

Strategies for promoting research awareness should be tailored to individual nursing needs. A survey was used to help develop a strategy for the promotion of nursing research in the gynaecology unit at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. After a brief description of the background associated with research awareness among nurses, the survey design, implementation and results are discussed. The survey led to the development of a strategy to raise research awareness, which is also described.
