Skin problems in the pre-term infant: avoiding ritualistic practice.

Pre-term infants have specific problems with their skin associated with their immaturity, and yet very little research has been carried out to enable nurses working with this patient group to provide evidence-based skin care. Once very small babies are discharged from hospital neonatal units, primary-care nurses should be aware of the skin problems that may persist.
