Bipedicle flap reconstruction of longitudinal palmar skin and soft tissue defects of the digits.

N W Yii1, D Elliot.

Abstract

Full-thickness defects of the skin and soft-tissue of the palmar aspect of the digits with exposure of the deeper structures which are longitudinal in shape are unusual and difficult to reconstruct. This paper discusses the treatment of these defects and reviews our experience of reconstructing nine such cases with bipedicle flaps. Copyright 2002 The British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
