beta-Galactoside-binding muscle lectins of man and monkey show antigenic cross-reactions with those of bovine origin.

R A Childs, T Feizi.

Abstract

Endogenous beta-galactoside-binding lectins were isolated from human heart and from human and rhesus-monkey skeletal muscles. Gel precipitation and radioimmunoassays with rabbit antisera to calf heart lectin revealed antigenic cross-reactions between the primate and bovine muscle lectins.
