Abstract
N-Chlorotaurine, an endogenous long-lived oxidant, demonstrated fungicidal activity against Candida spp. and a postantifungal effect. Secreted aspartyl proteinases, important fungal virulence factors, proved to be a first target of impact. These results provide support for the topical application of N-chlorotaurine as an antimicrobial agent in yeast infections.Entities:
