Abstract
Celiac disease (CD) is one of the most common lifelong disorders in Europe and the United States, in both children and adults. It is an immune-mediated enteropathy triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. This review addresses new developments in CD with respect to pediatric patients and emphasizes the need for awareness among health-care professionals. The epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and clinical spectrum of CD in children are highlighted.Entities:
