Abstract
Pseudoactinomycotic radiate granules, also known as the Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon represent a response to organic and in-organic foreign substances and can be found at various locations in the body. They are frequently observed in uterine curettages, where they can be misinterpreted as actinomycotic sulfur granules. Here we report a case with Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon in an intrauterine device (IUD)-associated genital actinomycosis. The morphological features of this phenomenon are presented using special staining methods and electron microscopy and the literature is reviewed.Entities:
