Abstract
The olfactory system has become an important model system for neurobiological function and sensory processing. In insects, odours play a vital role in all aspects of life. From the late 1950s until very recently, research into the structure and function of the insect olfactory system has often preceded similar investigations in vertebrates and has been important in the formulation of general principles.Mesh:
