Abstract
We report the case of a 31 year old healthy man without coronary risk factors, who made a suicide attempt with insulin caused by a chronic schizoid psychosis. The man was admitted to the hospital 14 hours later with non-specific chest pain and dizziness as clinical signs of a lateral wall myocardial infarction. The coronary angiography demonstrated intact coronary circulation and a broad area of myocardial damage of the left ventricular lateral wall. It is hypothesized that coronary artery vasospasm induced by hypoglycemia/hyperinsulinemia caused the myocardial infarction.Entities:
