Abstract
Borna disease virus (BDV) is a noncytolytic, neurotropic RNA virus that causes neurobehavioral disorders in a wide variety of warm-blooded animals. Recent evidence has revealed that BDV uses a unique strategy in its transcription and replication and directly affects cellular functions of infected central nervous systems. BDV research will provide new insights not only into the biology of neurotropic RNA virus but also into neuropsychiatry.Entities:
