Abstract
The mammalian intestinal epithelium effectively performs its physiological functions in a microbe-rich environment, while the prokaryotic population thrives amidst efficient cellular defenses. Recent delineation of the mechanisms by which bacteria communicate with their eukaryotic hosts and the cellular sites that microbial signals act in may shed light on these complex interactions.Entities:
