Abstract
The term 'wellness' is widely referred to in the nursing literature, yet its meaning remains elusive. Definitions vary widely, if they are provided. Lack of consensus regarding the definition of wellness contributes to fragmentation of access to research findings and limits understanding and action in wellness practice. This paper looks beyond individual definitions of the terms 'wellness' and 'health' to examine some conceptual similarities which may contribute to the debate.Mesh:
