Uwe Egner1, Hans Gerwinn, Ferdinand Schliehe.

Abstract

The German pension insurance scheme's quality assurance programme for medical rehabilitation is aimed at improving the quality of medical rehabilitation. Interviews with patients and peer-review of medical files show that patient satisfaction is high and that experienced staff perceive the quality of the rehabilitation processes to be high. The results of external quality assurance procedures have also helped to improve the quality of rehabilitation centres.
