Abstract
Hench considered that cortisone improved inflammatory joint symptoms during pregnancy and obstructive jaundice. However, the improved symptoms are probably due to changes in the proportions of fatty acids in plasma and inflammatory cell phospholipids. These changes decrease the superoxide anions and eicosanoids produced and also reduce tumour necrosis factor alpha production.Entities:
