Abstract
Integration and sealing-over are terms frequently used to describe different types of recovery from acute psychosis. Metapsychological and dynamic propositions regarding integration and sealing-over as recovery styles are presented and illustrated with clinical case material. Particular emphasis is placed on the different modes of conflict resolution characteristic of integration and sealing-over. The ego operations underlying these modes of conflict resolution are discussed.Entities:
