Abstract
A 64 years diabetic man presented with recurrent episodes of fever and abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed the presence of an abscess in the right lobe of the liver and a distended gall bladder with multiple calculi. Salmonella typhi was grown from the liver aspirate. Cholelithiasis may act as a predisposing factor for hepatic abscess formation in Salmonella carriers.Entities:
