Ravinder Sidhu1, Ritambhra Nada, Anshu Palta, Harsh Mohan, Sudha Suri.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To highlight the sonographic appearances of cysticercosis involving uncommon muscular sites.
METHODS: Two patients with nodular swelling involving the tongue and maxillary region were examined with high-resolution sonography.
RESULTS: Sonographic examination revealed an anechoic area with a small calcified scolex suggesting cysticercus infection.
CONCLUSIONS: High-resolution sonography is a noninvasive and nonionizing imaging modality that plays an important role in establishing the diagnosis of cysticercosis.
