Abstract
A recent paper in Cell shows that the large nucleoporin RanBP2 can act as an E3 enzyme for the ubiquitin-like protein SUMO1. These intriguing results raise important questions about the mechanism of SUMO1 conjugation, the relationship of SUMO1 to nuclear transport, and the regulation of RanBP2 in the pore.Entities:
