Treatment options for complex elbow fracture dislocations.

Abstract

The management of complex elbow fractures and fracture-dislocations requires an accurate assessment of the patterns of elbow injury. The surgical management of these injuries, in order to restore elbow stability and function, includes reconstruction of the articular surfaces and stabilization of the periarticular soft tissues. A surgical algorithm is presented to provide guidelines for treating these complex injuries.
