Abstract
Lactobacillus spp. are described, as well as their importance in human health, being part of the gastrointestinal endogenous flora and as a regulator of the vaginal ecosystem in women in their reproductive age. Besides, they are known also as pathogens, responsible for the septicaemia in immunocompromised patient, in cytolytic vaginosis and in lactobacillosis. The morphological, cultural and biochemical characteristics of Lactobacillus spp. are presented.Entities:
