Abstract
The first reported case of an enlarged right spermatic vein with an atypical course causing hydronephrosis and hydroureter in a twenty-eight-year-old man is presented. Transection of the obstructing spermatic vein improved the hydronephrosis. Causes, symptoms, and treatment of obstruction of the ureter by enlarged gonadal veins are discussed. The similarities between the "ovarian vein syndrome" in the female and this case are pointed out.Entities:
