Abstract
Drug resistance in tuberculosis is largely a man-made phenomenon caused by erroneous prescribing practices on the part of physicians and noncompliance on the part of patients. The global epidemiology of drug-resistant TB, the impact of standardized short-course chemotherapy (SSC), and the potential future evolution of MDR TB are discussed in this chapter.Entities:
