Smoking and psychosis in patients with bipolar I disorder.

We characterized 67 newly admitted patients in manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder on categorical and continuous measures of smoking and psychosis to test the hypothesis that patients who were smokers would be more likely to demonstrate psychotic features.
