Update on chemical peels.

Jon E Mendelsohn1.

Abstract

Facial skin rejuvenation continues to be a popular nonsurgical outpatient procedure performed by many facial plastic surgeons. Chemical peeling techniques continue to provide consistent and reliable results. By using variations of the Baker-Gordon solution and by varying the concentrations of TCA, several skin conditions may be treated. Because no one skin resurfacing procedure can be used for all patients, the most successful outcome is achieved when the treatment is individualized. Overall, skin resurfacing procedures remain one of the most rewarding procedures for the patient and surgeon.
