Abstract
The new species of the obligate-thermophilic bacterium Thermus ruber is widely distributed in hot springs of Kamchatka with the temperature of water from 57 to 90 degrees C. The bacterium does not oxidize sulphur. It contains a red carotenoid pigment similar to neuro-sporaxanthine and retrodehydro-gamma-carotene.Entities:
